AGRO 2-1 & 2-2
Integrated Management System in Agricultural Production in accordance with AGRO 2.1 & AGRO 2.2 standards
Brief Description
AGRO 2-1 & AGRO 2-2 set out the general requirements for the implementation of Integrated Management aiming at the production of safe products of high quality and the adoption of environmentally friendly production methods. They are applicable to agricultural holdings of all capacities, even by individual producers, regardless of their type of production direction, in order to achieve rational management of inputs and optimal implementation of farming interventions.
Detailed Description
AGRO 2-1 & AGRO 2-2 standards describe the requirements with which an agricultural holding has to comply in order to receive certification for the implementation of an Integrated Management for the production of its products.
AGRO 2-1 (Specification) standard sets out the general requirements to facilitate the Farm to formulate its own policy for the environment and the quality of the products produced, which includes the commitment to continuous improvement and aims at sustainability.
AGRO 2-2 (Requirements for implementation in crop production) standard describes the system’s technical and legal requirements in crop production that accompany standard AGRO 2-1. Producer group members of agricultural holdings are obliged to follow specific production rules, and to keep records of the practices they apply in order to ensure the quality and safety of the products produced, to ensure the health of producers and consumers and to protect the environment.
The Integrated Management in accordance with AGRO 2 standards can be combined, both in terms of its implementation and its certification, with other standards following the rules of good agricultural practices, such as GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance, etc.
