Brief Description
For products to be exported to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria and Libya, it is compulsory for the cargo to be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (respectively SASO Certificate of Conformity, GOEIC Certificate of Conformity, Algeria Certificate of Quality Control and Libya Certificate of Inspection).
In collaboration with the TÜV AUSTRIA Group companies, TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS is active in the field of Certifications of Conformity for exports to the above countries.
Detailed Description
Saudi Arabia: In accordance with national regulations, all cargo entering Saudi Arabia must be accompanied by a (SASO) Certificate of Conformity pursuant to the specifications and legislation of Saudi Arabia.
Product Categories Inspected
All consumer goods exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, apart from:
- Imports from Diplomatic Corps, Consulates, international Diplomatic and Consular organisations accredited by the government;
- Imports to all branches of military forces, such as ammunition, weapons, equipment, military means of transport as well as their spare parts and all other related materials;
- Imports performed by charities;
- Food and agricultural products;
- Medicine, medical devices and equipment;
- Crude petrol.

- LC (Letter of Credit), if applicable
Egypt: In accordance with national regulations, all cargo entering Egypt must be accompanied by a GOEIC certificate ensuring that the products comply with Egypt’s technical specifications and standards, as well as the applicable international standards.

Algeria: In accordance with national regulations, all cargo entering Algeria must be accompanied by a Quality Certificate, issued by an approved Certification body, ensuring that the products comply with Algeria’s technical specifications and standards.

Libya: In accordance with regulation “Resolution of Governor of Central Bank of Libya N° 96 dated 30 April 2015”, all cargo entering Libya must be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity.

Certification Procedure
In order to schedule the inspection for the issuance of a Certificate of Conformity, the interested party has to fill in and submit the relevant application (Request for Certification), along with the relevant documents (product description, quality certificates). Once the above documents have been checked, the interested party is notified of the Certification requirements and the cost of the services, and then the inspection is scheduled in consultation with the interest party. Following the inspection, the test report is issued and signed by the inspector and the interested party, and then the Certificate is issued.
