Brief description

Organic farming is aimed at producing high-quality nutritional products without the use of agrochemicals, with the greatest possible participation of man and nature itself in the production process.

Detailed description

Certification of organic products is carried out in accordance with Community law EU 2018/848 and national legislation (Ministerial Decision 2543/103240/09.10.2017). For natural and legal persons active in the production, manufacture, labelling, distribution and sale, as well as import and export, of organic agricultural products, including aquaculture and apiculture (beekeeping) products, which may be:

A) living and unprocessed agricultural products, including seeds and other plant reproductive material

B) processed agricultural products for use as ‘food’

C) animal feed

Fundamental principles:

  • Contribution to the protection of the environment and the climate

  • Improvement of soil fertility
  • Preservation of biodiversity
  • Significant contribution to a non-toxic environment

  • Contribute to high standards of animal welfare and, in particular, to meet the behavioural needs of various animal species

  • Promotion of short distribution channels and local production in the various regions of the Union
