The Tesco Nurture Module is a private add‑on to the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard, setting high and targeted requirements for the responsible management of plant protection products and the complete, well‑documented monitoring of production.

Detailed Description

The “Tesco NURTURE Module” assessment applies to all products covered under GLOBALG.A.P. IFA that are intended for supply to the Tesco market in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

The initial certification inspection is carried out during the harvest or product‑handling period, with particular emphasis on compliance with the Plant Protection Product List (PPPL) and traceability requirements.

The assessment is conducted in combination with the annual GLOBALG.A.P. IFA audit, offering time efficiency and reduced duplication of checks.

The certification cycle is annual and fully aligned with the corresponding GLOBALG.A.P. IFA certification cycle.

What is the Certification Process?

1. The Tesco plc “Primary / Direct Supplier” sends the list of producers / producer groups to be audited to TÜV AUSTRIA.
2. If a producer / producer group contacts the Certification Body to request an inspection after the initial producer list has been submitted, TÜV AUSTRIA confirms the producer with the relevant Tesco Primary Supplier before agreeing to conduct the audit.
3. A financial offer is submitted to the Producer / Producer Group of the Tesco Primary Supplier.
4. The GLOBALG.A.P. IT platform is updated accordingly.
5. The assessment of the Producer / Producer Group is carried out according to the “Tesco NURTURE Module”.
6. A Certificate of Compliance is issued upon successful completion of the process.

It is intended for:

• producers of fruits & vegetables,
• producers of flowers & ornamentals,

who collaborate with approved Tesco Primary Suppliers and whose production processes are certified or in the process of being certified against GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA).

• Ensures the ability of Producers or Producer Groups to collaborate with an approved Tesco Primary Supplier, strengthening their credibility and commercial positioning.
• Reduces audit duplication and increases flexibility, as the agricultural company can meet the requirements of both GLOBALG.A.P. IFA and the Tesco NURTURE Module through a combined assessment.
