The European Union has adopted a package of proposals aiming to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 (Fit for 55). The ultimate goal is for Europe to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 and to make the European Green Deal a reality.
TÜV Austria, in response to the EU’s development strategy regarding environmental challenges (Green Deal), has developed the service Zero Carbon Organization.
Zero Carbon Organization
Zero Carbon Organization certification scheme specifies the requirements to calculate the greenhouse gas emissions produced by an organization and the requirements regarding its carbon offsets – removals (Carbon Credits). The certification’s reference points are the requirements of ISO 14064-1 and PAS 2060.
If the audit is successful, an official Zero Carbon Organization Certificate and logo are issued.
Benefits of certification
Zero Carbon Organization Certification is the assurance of organizations and consumers about climate neutrality claims (zero net greenhouse gas emissions). The certification:
- Improves the environmental image of the organization
- Provides the organization with a competitive advantage in the market
- Saves on natural and financial resources
- Meets consumer demand for greater transparency
- Satisfies the requirements of suppliers and the expectations of customers
Applicable Companies
The certification applies to all organizations, small or large and is addressed to both organizations with a production process, and to organizations that provide services.
