The certifications of the consortium IMPREGILO S.p.A. – TERNA S.A., which is responsible for the completion of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) on the edge of Faliro Bay, are signed by TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS. More specifically, after the successful inspection a triple certification was awarded to the consortium according the standard ISO 9001 for the application of the quality management system, the standard ISO 14001 for the environmental management and the standard OHSAS 18001 for the occupational health and safety, with the following scope: Construction of the «Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center». These certifications demonstrate the high-quality of the project whose implementation is progressing rapidly and on schedule.
Additionally, except for the certifications, TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS contributed to the workmanship of the construction of the SNFCC which will house the Greek National Opera and the National Library of Greece. Specifically, TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS conducted shop & field inspections and laboratory tests for the metal constructions of the building, the wood coated objects of the Opera as well as the Ferrocement, which the roof of the Opera is built of and it has been characterized as an architectural innovation.
Moreover, TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS has an active role in the control and the certification, with strict specifications, of the photovoltaic park which will be installed in the energetic roof of the Opera. More particularly, it contributed to the evaluation of the projects and the materials to be used and it is going to certify the installation of the f/v park in accordance with European and International standards.
The consortium IMPREGILO S.p.A. – TERNA S.A. is signed by two global construction companies, which is confirmed by their final choice through a long process of international criteria which had been set for undertaking the construction of the SNFCC. TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS, one of the leading certification organizations in Greece, occupies experienced and highly-trained inspectors who respond successfully to major projects.
