TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas has recently undertaken the periodical inspections of lifts at the following organizations:

  • Hellenic Railways Organization S.A.
  • National Bank and National Insurance Company Service Points
  • Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall
  • Lidl Retail Company
  • Golden Hall Shopping Center
  • River West Shopping Center
  • Hayatt Regency Hotel
  • IASO Medical Centers

Periodical inspections of existing lifts in Greece are obligatory according to the local legislation under the Law (GGG 2604B/2008) and must be repeated in certain time intervals of the time range from 1 to 6 years, depending on the building use where the lift is installed (Governmental buildings – public use, professional use, residential use). The inspection includes a lift testing in order to confirm the good operation of the lift or to locate any malfunctions relating to safety. It must not to be confused with the normal maintenance procedure or repairs.

TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas is activated in lifts inspection and certification since 1994, has been accredited by the Hellenic Accreditation System (E.S.Y.D.) and has been a European Notified Body since 2000 (notification number 0906) according to all the annexes of the European Lift Directive 95/16/EC. Furthermore has been recognized by the Greek Authorities for the Periodical inspections of existing lifts .
