Mr. Ioannis Kallias, Country Manager of TÜV AUSTRIA in Greece
The inauguration ceremony took place on Wednesday, May 14, in the presence of representatives from the political sphere, local authorities, the local business community, and partners. The catering was provided by the Women of Lesvos Agricultural Cooperative, offering authentic local flavors—an initiative with symbolic significance that highlights the company’s support for local production, female entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. This event marks the culmination of TÜV AUSTRIA’s 11-year continuous presence in Mytilene through the Aegean Branch and reflects its unwavering commitment to the ongoing growth and evolution of its corporate presence. By providing high-standard certification, inspection, and training services, TÜV AUSTRIA substantially contributes to the strengthening and growth of the Greek business community in the islands, while upholding the principles of responsibility and sustainability.
With a team of 30 experienced staff and external partners, TÜV AUSTRIA’s branch in Mytilini offers its full range of services. It strengthens its presence in the Aegean islands—regions known for vibrant and multifaceted business activity in key sectors of the Greek economy such as Tourism, the Primary Sector, and Innovation. With steadfast commitment, the company aims to fully meet the needs of businesses, providing the reliability and efficiency for which it is known. Notably, TÜV AUSTRIA Labs are now operational at the Mytilene branch, enabling immediate and reliable laboratory testing and analysis. The goal is to offer even more comprehensive solutions and services—a true one-stop shop.
Mr. Ioannis Kallias, Country Manager of TÜV AUSTRIA in Greece, stated:
“Our new offices in Mytilini mark a new chapter for our presence not only on the island but throughout the Aegean. Eleven years after the establishment of the branch, even the most optimistic among us would not have anticipated such a business journey and the success of this venture. The numbers speak for themselves: 30 employees and associates, over 3,200 clients (distinct VAT IDs) across all sectors of economic activity! We continue to invest consistently in regions with strong business identity and potential. Our decision to strengthen our infrastructure and team here is part of a broader strategy: to be present where we can add value, build trust, and contribute meaningfully to development. We see the Aegean not just as a critical geography, but as a field of dynamic evolution and business growth. For us, the Aegean starts with Mytilini!”
Mr. Dimitris Grammatis, Head of Aegean Branch Office of TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, emphasized:
“For us, the new offices are not just a modern workspace. They are the physical expression of the journey we have built over the past eleven years alongside our partners, clients, and the local business community. Our team is growing and evolving, guided by knowledge, experience, and the belief that we can truly offer value. From Mytilini, we continue to stand by the businesses of all the Aegean islands, with respect for their needs and a commitment to continuous improvement. We serve safety and quality. We are here because our services offer high added value to the market, the economy, the citizens, and society! We are committed to doing even better in the years to come!”
During the event, greetings were delivered by Michail-Anthimos Dissos, Deputy Regional Governor for Culture and Social Welfare of the North Aegean, and Evangelos Myrsinias, President of the Lesvos Chamber of Commerce.
