In the modern agri‑food sector, food safety and the responsible use of plant protection products are fundamental prerequisites for accessing international markets. The Nurture Module, Tesco’s private add‑on, sets high and targeted requirements for the responsible management of plant protection products and the complete, well‑documented traceability of production.
What is the Nurture Module?
The Nurture Module is a specialized add‑on to the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA standard, designed to ensure full control and transparency in the use of plant protection products. It is intended for:
- producers of fruits & vegetables,
- producers of flowers & ornamentals,
- businesses wishing to demonstrate responsibility and high quality in managing Tesco’s Plant Protection Product List (PPPL).
The assessment is carried out in combination with the annual GLOBALG.A.P. IFA audit, offering time efficiency.
What does the assessment include?
The “Tesco NURTURE Module” assessment applies to all products covered by GLOBALG.A.P. IFA that are intended for distribution in Tesco’s market in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
The initial inspection takes place during the harvest or handling period, with emphasis on the management of Plant Protection Products (Plant Protection Product List) by the agricultural company.
The certification cycle is annual and fully aligned with the corresponding GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) certification cycle.
TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS, as an officially recognized certification body by Tesco, offers a reliable, technically robust, and internationally recognized evaluation process, contributing to the enhancement of producers’ quality, safety, and competitiveness.
