Featuring the Greek student who excelled in the world of digital skills
TÜV AUSTRIA in Greece and ACTA – a spin-off of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – held the official screening of the internationally award-winning documentary “Spreadsheet Champions”, produced by Good Thing Productions. The documentary follows the journey of six students from different countries on their path to the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship, a global event that highlights top digital skills among young people worldwide. Among them stands out the Greek student Alkmini Gaitantzi, who, after winning first place at the National ACTA Final and participating in the World Championship, is featured in the documentary as the official representative of Greece and Europe.
The event was attended and addressed by the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, the Deputy Minister of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports, Mr. Konstantinos Vlassis, the Austrian Ambassador to Greece, Ms. Gerda Vogl, Mr. Ty Kenworthy, Director of Business Development and Sales Enablement at Pearson/Certiport and Mr. Pavlos Kitsanelis, Public Sector Lead at Microsoft, all recognizing the importance of promoting digital skills and highlighting new talents in an ever-evolving technological world. Representatives from ACTA, TÜV AUSTRIA in Greece, Pearson, and Microsoft were also present, along with official guests from the fields of education, innovation, and the public sector, confirming the close collaboration between academic, public, and private sector entities to advance digital education in Greece.


As part of the event, an honorary recognition was also given to the Greek students who excelled in the MOS World Championship, followed by the screening of the documentary, which showcased the talent, effort, and creativity of young people on an international stage.
The Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou stated:

The Deputy Minister of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports, Mr. Konstantinos Vlassis, added:

The path toward personal and professional achievement is not limited exclusively to university education. Technical professions today constitutet a modern and highly dynamic option, with opportunities that often respond more directly to market needs. We honor the passion and effort of young people, as well as their determination to pursue their dreams without limitations.
