TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas awards the “No Food Waste” certification to the DOMUS event venue, operating at ASTERIA Glyfada, confirming its systematic and responsible approach to food management and the reduction of food waste. The certification is based on TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas’ private “No Food Waste” scheme, developed in collaboration with the non-profit organization “Boroume – Saving Food, Saving Lives,” and concerns the implementation of specific practices for the prevention, monitoring, and utilization of surplus food.
DOMUS, a modern event venue in the southern suburbs of Athens, integrates sustainability at the core of its operations by applying a comprehensive system of procedures covering food safety, food waste reduction, and an overall environmental management approach. It is noted that the venue already holds the ISO 22000:2018 certification from TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, ensuring food quality and safety at all stages of its operation. At the same time, the “No Food Waste” initiatives are supported by practices of responsible energy and water management, sustainable sourcing, and waste management, within the framework of a unified sustainable development strategy.
Particular emphasis is also placed on the human factor, through continuous staff training and the adoption of new methods that promote ongoing improvement and environmental awareness in daily operations. The reduction of food waste is directly linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically to Goal 12.3, which calls for a 50% reduction by 2030. Through this certification, DOMUS actively aligns itself with these international quideline.
