TÜV AUSTRIA certified Mitsopoulos – The Meat Family according to the private “No Food Waste” scheme, confirming the systematic implementation of responsible practices in food management and waste reduction.
The “No Food Waste” certification scheme, developed by TÜV AUSTRIA in Greece in collaboration with the non-profit organization “Boroume”, evaluates and recognizes organizations that implement comprehensive procedures for reducing and rationally utilizing food across all stages of their operations.
Mitsopoulos – The Meat Family is the first company to be certified under the private “No Food Waste” certification scheme in the field of meat processing. Its certification confirms the adoption of a structured and holistic management system that incorporates internationally recognized standards and covers critical areas such as food safety, responsible resource use, environmental protection, and the minimization of food loss.

The certification award ceremony took place at the premises of Mitsopoulos – The Meat Family, in a highly symbolic event highlighting the importance of responsible food management and sustainable development in the meat processing industry. During the ceremony, Ms Maria Agapitou, Head of Management Systems & Products Certification Division at TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, stated: “ We are particularly pleased to award the ‘No Food Waste’ certification to Mitsopoulos – The Meat Family, the first company in the meat processing sector to receive this certification – a company that demonstrates in practice that responsibility and business growth can coexist.
