🔍 What’s Changing in Version 7?
The main changes include:
- Integration of the new ISO 22002-x:2025 standards for prerequisite programs (PRPs).
- Alignment with the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements v2024, ensuring continued international recognition.
- Strengthening of sustainability requirements, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Provision of information regarding food categories, offering greater clarity.
- Changes and improvements as part of the scheme’s continuous improvement.
📅 Timeline
Certified organizations will have a 12‑month transition period to implement the new version. Audits under Version 6 are allowed until April 30, 2027, and transition audits from Version 6 to Version 7 must take place from May 1, 2027 and be completed by April 30, 2028.
ℹ️ What Does This Mean for Certified Organizations?
Organizations already certified under Version 6 should prepare for the transition by updating their systems according to the new requirements and carry out a transition audit- either surveillance or recertification – between May 1, 2027 and April 30, 2028, depending on their certification cycle.
